UP Police SI/ASI/Computer Operator English Typing

The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) conducts a qualifying-only computer typing test for SI (Confidential), ASI (Clerk), and ASI (Accounts) candidates with zero numerical weightage toward the final merit list. Eligibility & Speed Criteria: 1. ASI (Accounts): 15 WPM Hindi typing speed only (250 words in 15 minutes). 2. ASI (Clerk) & SI (Confidential): 25 WPM Hindi typing (400 words in 15 minutes) and 30 WPM English typing (500 words in 15 minutes). 3. Candidates taking both tests receive a 10 to 20-minute mandatory break between sessions. Technical & Keyboard Rules: 1. Hindi Software Standard: Strictly conducted on Unicode (Inscript Keyboard Layout) using the Mangal font (Kruti Dev and Devlys are strictly prohibited). 2. English Layout: Standard QWERTY keyboard layout. 3. Hardware: Keyboards and computer terminals are provided by the exam center; personal hardware is not allowed. Accuracy & Evaluation Formulas: 1. Minimum Accuracy: Minimum 85% accuracy required simultaneously with the prescribed WPM speed. 2. Full Mistakes (1 Full Error): Omitting or adding words/figures, substituting words, spelling mistakes, repetitions, and incomplete words. 3. Half Mistakes (0.5 Error): Spacing errors, capitalization mistakes in English, missing or extra punctuation, word order transposition, and improper paragraph indentation.
